A brief
introduction...
Kanga ATV Racing is a relatively new venture with an interesting history. We
got our start with Maryville, TN based International PowerCraft (IPC), the
creators and designers of the original Husky and Pit Viper mini quads. In
it's early days IPC was a whirlwind of activity energized by a father and
two sons who did an amazing job in designing the Husky and Viper. We
had the good fortune of being called upon to manufacture various components
for IPC including the rear drive assembly, steering axel, handle bar clamp,
rear swing arm and front a-arms.
IPC unfortunately found itself competing for capital in a time when everyone
was becoming risk averse (following the dot-com bust).
The trio that had
worked so hard to launch Husky and Pit Viper finally closed the business for
good in 2002.
Then an amazing thing occurred…and kept occurring. We were getting tidbits
of news about the superb performance of the bike. Young riders were winning
races... some with highly modified Huskys and others with Huskys straight
out of the box. They were winning in Arizona, Ohio, California, West
Virginia... everywhere. The chat rooms were dotted with positive
comments about the bike design and it's performance, and unfortunately,
negative comments as well about cries for service and spare parts from a
business no longer in existence.
Well, we couldn’t just sit back and let this cool product die. We raised
some money and bought the remains of IPC... a bunch of motors and a
truckload of half finished parts, a set of drawings, the design rights, and
a list of IPC customers who both celebrate and curse the day they
bought a Husky.
While our primary business at Kanga ATV
Racing is the sale and support of modified Husky and Viper bikes for young
atv racing, we also offer spare parts, performance upgrades, and technical
help for the IPC Husky and Pit Viper.
